A NORTHERN EUROPEAN STUDY

Veletta was conceived as a study in modern Northern European yacht design - where strong structure meets clean, deliberate form. At midi-scale, the project explores how refined proportions, layered decks, and restrained detailing can create a vessel that feels both elegant and purposeful.

Rather than simply reducing the scale of a megayacht, Veletta was designed to stand as its own architectural composition - compact, balanced, and visually commanding.

ENGINEERED AS A COMPLETE SYSTEM

Beneath the vessel’s clean exterior lies a structural framework engineered to support scale accuracy and long-term durability. The build was developed as a complete system, incorporating removable deck structures, modular interior modules, and internal reinforcement within the hull.

Every element of the model works together to maintain alignment, rigidity, and clean visual continuity across the entire vessel, ensuring that deck lines remain uninterrupted and that the vessel reads as a single cohesive structure from bow to stern.

MODULAR BY DESIGN

Veletta’s interior spaces are built as independent modules, allowing each deck level to be removed and explored while maintaining the vessel’s structural integrity. Cabins, lounges, service areas, and mechanical spaces are distributed across multiple deck levels, revealing how the yacht’s layout develops throughout the entire vessel.

Each section lifts away cleanly to reveal the underlying layers and interior layout, offering a clear view of how the vessel is organized beneath the exterior.

PROPULSION & MECHANICAL SYSTEM

Veletta incorporates a functional propulsion mechanism that allows the model’s propellers to rotate through an integrated drive system within the hull. The system is designed to operate smoothly while preserving the vessel’s clean exterior profile and structural integrity.

A control knob positioned at the center of the engine room connects the internal drive components, turning both the engine shafts and propeller shafts simultaneously. This mechanical linkage adds an interactive element to the build while maintaining the clean presentation expected of a display model.

A NEW REFERENCE AT MIDI-SCALE

Veletta was developed as an exploration of what can be achieved at midi-scale - a format that sits between compact display models and large statement builds. The project balances refined exterior proportions with a fully realized interior layout, modular construction, and functional mechanical features, all within the constraints of the LEGO medium.

Rather than pursuing scale alone, the primary goal was to resolve how much architectural clarity, interior space, and technical detail could coexist within a disciplined footprint. The result establishes a clear reference for future MRJ Builds projects at this scale - demonstrating what is possible when structural design, interior planning, and mechanical integration are developed together.
